Important correction to my earlier post on HH Sadasiva Brahmendra Adishtanam

Dear Readers,
I am sure you read ourearlier posting on the attack by a Christian mission on this holy site. Please note that this mission has NOT agreed to hand over the lands to Kanchi Mutt. Efforts are under way to convince them to hand it over to hindus – not necessarily to Kanchi mutt. With the blessings of our Periyavas, several other parties like Hindu Munnani, VHP, BJP RSS etc are involved in this re-acquisition process, who also worth mentioning here.
Sincere apologies for erroneous statement related to this sensitive issue.

Attack on HH Sadasiva Brahmendra Swamigal Adishtanam by Christian Mission

It is painful to read these news and the aggression by Christian missionaries towards our holy places. Particularly with Sonia Gandhi kind of leaders who encourage missionaries to proliferate, we need more people and money to fight against these forces. Our sincere thanks and namaskarams to our dear Periyavas who have been blessing and guiding us in this rescue process  from the hands of the wrong-doers…Please read on this article and reach out to Dr Raghunath for more details and to extend your support.

Sri Sadasiva Brahmendral’s serene and spiritual environment was brutally disturbed by the purchase of three acres of cultivable land adjoining the Jeeva Samadhi complex by a Christian Missionary. The Christian Missionary initiated construction procedures hastily to make eviction difficult. The devotees at Nerur and all over the world raised voice against the proposals.

Devotees of Sri Sadasiva Brahmendral and Kanchi Mutt have this rare opportunity to repossess the lands that were grabbed by the Christian Missionary when it was least expected. We do believe in religious harmony but will resist harassment from other religions.

There are a lot of background issues as well that go to show that the missionary’s ill-fated attempt was steeped in sankalpam that was not noble. A couple of salient ones are -

- the construction was illegal (no permit approved for construction on agricultural land), and the missionary did that knowing that once constructed, it will be fait accompli and legal recourse to removal would be almost impossible
- he took donations to the NGO and bought the land and transferred it illegally to his wife’s name

The bhaktas in Karur and Nerur have worked hard to bring all of this to light and stop this activity.
As a rare act, even the government stepped in to help – which almost never seems to happen in Tamil Nadu.

Now, it really is upon us to help reacquire that land and preserve the sanctity of the place. Not just that, the locals had been sympathetic to this missionary because “he was planning on doing good things”. The bhaktas there want to show that we do good things as well. But it doesn’t come free. They are there to help with their manual work and time. If we could step up and help acquire this by collecting at least a fourth of what is required (10lakhs = ~ $20,000) across all chapters
soon, that would be a great kainkarya to sanathana dharma

Generous donations are important at this moment, but more important is our solidarity. Our role today will be a strong message to our children and grand children tomorrow.

Kanchi Kamakoti Veda Patashala and Vriddhashramam in Thirvanaikkaaval

Dear Devotees,

On this holy Anusham day, the birth star of Sri Mahaswami please see attached appeal for this Veda Patasala which is in dire need of our support. Sri Mahaswami stayed at this veda patasala and performed Tatankapratishta for Goddess Akhilandeswari as his first act as peetadhipathi after his vedabhyasam in Mahendramangalam.

You can make your contributions through Kanchi Kamakoti Seva Foundation, NJ. Please contact Rajesh Vaidheeswaran for further details. His contact information is in the appeal flyer.

I am also attaching a rare picture of Sri Mahaswami taken in 1969, as Lord Dakshinamurhty himself. I got this picture right after i got the appeal request. It goes without saying that this patasala needs our support…

Important Announcement from Dharma Rakshana Trust

Dharma Rakshana Trust

Sree Gurubhyo Namah

To all well wishers of Hindu Dharma

The past few years have been the darkest in some of our lives caused by Their Holiness the Sankaracharyas of Kanchi having to face circumstances brought upon them and their having to prove an allegation wrong in the court of law. As dutiful beings bestowed with the wisdom of some of the greatest men that lived in our land, it is their belief that they have to endure the process of law once alleged, using the support of all those who believe in them and the righteousness of the custodians of the Hindu Dharma.
As a part of the process we have had to wait through the test of times for the legal framework to take its shape, and the right circumstances to have their cases heard. We have in the last few years seen the many days of long and testing court drama. The time has now come and we expect the case proceedings to come to a close sometime in the next few months, provided there are no surprises or unexpected delays.
Both the Periavas have been very firm in their view that the expenses for the legal battle have to be met by contributions from devotees and the Mutt funds must not be used for the purposes.

Though there have been many a persons, lawyers and others who have joined in providing services for gratis, there has been a constant need for funding the legal expenses which is a significant amount. With their Benign Blessings we have been successful in meeting the needed financial obligations till date.

We believe that we will need all the support that we can get in this final hour. May we draw upon you to contribute your mite and to help us endure this last leg? All voluntary contributions will go to provide legal and other assistance to members of our society who have been maligned by legal charges, especially their Holiness the Archaryas of Kanchi and others who have been charged of all types of charges.

Cheques can be drawn in favour of
